WHAT IS PANCHAKARMA TREATMENT?
Pancha means five & karma means Action/Therapy .So this is the five therapy & are called bio cleansing procedures used in Ayurveda.By these methords the toxins accumulated & adhered to the body channels (srotas),due to dearrangement of doshas are expelled through natural orifices of the body .By means of (Vamana through mouth,Virechana, Niruha,Anuvasana through Anus & Nasya through nostrils).
Since these are the major operations require pre-operative & post operative procedures. The pre-operative procedures are known as poorvakarmas. Snehana (oleation) & Svedana are the two major pre operative measures.By Snehana vitiated doshas adhered to the channels (srotos), tissues (Dhatus) & organs are moisturized & transformed into a form suitable for elimination.Swedana is intened a major role to liquefy the doshas & lead them the gastro intestinal tract (Mahasrotas). After this by administering appropriate pancha karma, doshas are expelled through the nearest natural orifice of the body. The excessive dosha collected in the upper part the body head & neck (urdwamaanga) is eliminated through nostril,Stomach (amasaya) through mouth,& in the lower intestine (pakwasaya) through Anus.
Then by using specific post operative measures as prescribed for each karmas, the body regains normalcy.
